Phi Kappa Tau Parents
You still have a role to play as your son begins his transition away from home and eventually out into the world on his own. It isn’t always clear what that role is, and it will vary greatly based upon you and your son. You may feel you’ve lost the connection the two of you once had, however, many find that relationship evolving positively over the next several years. We hope that happens for the two of you while at KU and Phi Kappa Tau.

Of all the attributes of fraternity membership, brotherhood is the differentiating feature when compared to not belonging to a fraternity. In addition, brotherhood is the binding element that strengthens the other four pillars of fraternity advantages: Academics, Leadership (chapter, interfraternity, campus and community), Networking and Community Service. A fraternity offers its members an opportunity to excel in formative endeavors that provide a strong foundation for post graduate success.
The social skills (teamwork, collaborative synergies, loyalty, ethics, etc.) consistently provide a head start in the years following graduation. A recent study finds that the income of college graduate fraternity members was about 36% higher than choosing not to participate in fraternity life. The fraternity presents a solid bridge between life at home and a chosen career. Brotherhood provides the support, the shared concern and the means for success most young men hope for in their college years.

Help us get our Parents Facebook Group off the ground. Meet other parents and find ways to support your son while in Phi Kappa Tau by joining our parent’s group.
Here we can plan parent’s weekends, keep in touch with what’s happening in the chapter and share ideas and discuss concerns.

Support the chapter
You don’t have to be an alum to support the chapter. We know parents are also interested in helping their son’s fraternity grow stronger by volunteering time or donating to causes they deem worthy.

Scholarships
Several national scholarships are available each year
Local alumni supported scholarships are also available including the Kresin 3.0 Scholarship awarded to members with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Amounts range from $100-400/semester.
Membership Fees
New members: one time $250 association fee to our National Headquarters.
Existing members: less than $800/ semester.. This includes: KU & National Headquarter dues, social, community service and other related expenses.
*Scholarships are available to offset National and Local chapter expenses.
